 Ice Swim in Morocco

Ice Swim in Morocco is the first ice swimming event of its kind in Morocco, with the objective of developing the discipline and offering Moroccan and foreign swimmers a high quality even. Participants can challenge themselves on various distances from 50m to 1 mile.

  The event takes place in the beautiful lake of Aguelmam Azegza surrounded by lush green nature, the ideal place for ice swimming. The place is located in the Middle Atlas Mountains, in the national park of the same name, 1 hour drive from the city of Khénifra.

The first edition took place on the 18th of February 2018

The second edition was on 19th of January 2019

and the third edition took place on the 1st of February 2020.

The fourth edition, unfortunately could not take place because of the COVID pandemic, nevertheless, Hassan Baraka was able  to honor the Ice Swim In Morocco with swims of 200m, 500m, 1000m and 1 mile on January 21, 2021.

The fifth edition took place on January 22, 2022 with the participation only of Moroccan residents given the closure of the borders.

The sixth edition of January 21, 2023 brought together more than 10 nationalities from (Argentina, Poland, Germany, Luxembourg, Mexico, Czech Republic, South Africa, France, United Kingdom and Morocco).

The event is organized by IISA Morocco with Mrs Fairouz Chbani and Mr Hassan Baraka as IISA Officials.
